Introduction: My Name is…
Hello folks, my name is Aram Zucker-Scharff and I’ll be the featured blogger on economics. Let me follow fellow blogger Shanan here and give a brief introduction.
I’m originally from the greater New York City area (Larchmont, for those of you who know where that is) but I go to school here in Virginia at George Mason University. I’m earning a dual degree at George Mason University: a BA in English and a BS in Information Technology.
Politically I’m a liberal, though these days the word is a bit more flexible then it used to be. My two big issues when it comes to deciding who to vote for are probably First Amendment rights and not being poor. That second point is the reason why I’m blogging about the economy for this transition period.
I’ll be watching everything having to do with our wonderful economic system, including appointees, transition teams, slimy businesspeople from Detroit, huge wastes of money, what appears to be the general failure of the free market, and where–exactly–all those taxes you pay are going. We’ll also have fun checking out the stock market, the tech sector, mutual fund managers ready to take the ol’ skyscraper dive, and just which stores will be getting a big hunk of bankruptcy coal from Santa this holiday (don’t expect to return anything from KB Toys by the way).
With all that said, be forewarned, it feels like these days my views on economics tend to be against my fellow liberals, so don’t freak out if I fail to toe the line.
Have fun and feel free to yell back at me.
