Important things the director of the new Superman movie wants you to know:

– He is super good at this thing called composition. Especially the part where he places something slightly out of focus in the background of a shot and it Means Something. 

– Superman is totally edgy now.

– Also, in case he didn’t make it obvious enough with all the backgrounds and dialogue, Superman is Jesus. For reals. Super Jesus. Super American Jesus. 

– Zack Snyder hates steady cams. Steady camera shots are for amateurs. Shaky camera shots are the bomb. Even in totally peaceful flashbacks. Which is important, because there are a lot of flashbacks.

Important things the director doesn’t want you to know:

– He stole 75% of the story from a storyline of the Wildstorm Universe’s Mr. Majestic. 

Of all of the many problems of the DC universe reboot, one of their biggest mistakes was deleting the WildStorm universe. So much interesting stuff was going on around there.
