Megan Gale as The Valkyrie in Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
This is just so fantastic. I sort of wish there was a feature length version of this mashup.

Ugh, there’s just so much world-building in this and it’s nearly a damn throwaway shot:
-Day 12045 = 33 years exactly since…the apocalypse, probably.
-the units of measurement: 10 hands instead of inches or centimeters (also increasing the connotations of Max being considered livestock – although clearly the unit changed post-apocalypse, because Max is definitely taller than 40 inches!)
-time listed in days instead of months/years. Furiosa also counts her time after capture in days (7000+ days = 19+ years), which implies what kind of day-to-day culture they have now, where months/years are no longer relevant
-Max is described as a ‘full life’ vs Nux being ‘near the end of his half life’. The terminology of cancer/illness being associated with radiation is telling, but not surprising.
-NO NAME. MULTIPLE SCARS. ISOLATE. PSYCHOTIC. Oh Max. Imma cry.
-except it’s also significant that they have terms for these things, that this kind of human wreckage is common enough to get slang created to name it
-’keep muzzled’ yeah good luck with that
-you can see that the tattoo is done upside down on his back (this is consistent with the actual scene, btw), but it took me a second to figure out why: so they can read it when he’s dangling upside down from his cage to give blood. CREEPY.
Nifty.
