Just once, I would like to see a post-post-apocalypse movie where the hero decides that yes, the system is awful, but it’s also the only thing sustaining humanity, so maybe we should let it live and slowly build up reforms and fix things; instead of: BLOW IT UP BECAUSE we’re all so terrible and EVERYONE DIES, because humanity is the WORST.
I mean, the system produced Picasso and Einstein along with all the terrible stuff. Wouldn’t “let’s get together and fix things” be a better (and more useful) message for genre fiction to convey
