So, finally got to watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier and I realized something.

Pretend that the Helicarriers are the Death Star; Bucky is Anakin Skywalker; Captain America is Obi-Wan; And SHIELD/HYDRA is The Republic/Empire.

Then imagine HYDRA pulls it off and wins at the last minute.

That would have been a great Star Wars Episodes 1-3 is all I’m saying.

If you haven’t been watching Kirby Ferguson’s excellent Everything is a Remix videos, here’s a quick collection and some links to the excellent documentary. We often talk about remixed media as if it were something new to our culture. However, in these extremely informative videos Ferguson traces the modern remix back to 1961.
