It didn’t even take a full year for AMP to degrade into the worst possible experience. Since it has been awhile since the last AMP news:

– AMP is built on tech that is against the principles of the Open Web.
– AMP pages are supposed to result in better search traffic, but publishers report that they are not.
– AMP pages are supposed to result in a faster experience, but they have not done so consistently.
– AMP does not deliver parity on monetization
– AMP ads are slow.
– AMP restricts what tech you can use to Google-friendly partners.
– AMP blocks basic HTML elements and CSS selectors.
– New, supposedly faster, AMP ads deliver the worst UX styles on the web.

AMP is bad and Google should feel bad about it.
